Feb 4 - Cranky Baby

The morning started out a little earlier than usual today. I woke up by 7:40 am to Carson crying away in his crib which is also unusual. Usually I can lay in bed for about 15 - 20 minutes listening to the boys babble back and forth and giggle at each other. As I dragged myself out of bed I was cursing myself for staying up late (1am) reading. The start of the day was just a foreshadow to how the rest of the day would go. Breakfast went OK - the boys were sporting their new tie up bibs because any bibs with velcro get pulled off right away - but after breakfast the whining was constant!

Luckily Gavin was happy all day because Carson did not stop crying and whining. Not that I can blame the poor guy - he had a mild fever and a runny nose and was obviously not feeling well because he cuddled and napped noticeably more than usual and didn't eat much except fruit, water and formula.

One fail safe for the boys is the bath. It seems like no matter how cranky they are, as soon as you put them in the bath they are happy.....until you take them out again! Clapping has been a favorite thing since Carson started clapping a couple days ago. One of them will start clapping randomly or to some music and then the other joins in and they both think it's SO funny! You'll also notice that, although we have plenty of fun bath toys, the favorites include a tupperware container (I use it to dump water over their heads and they love it!), shampoo bottles, and the lids to the shampoo bottles. They also think it's pretty funny to throw everything out of the tub!

Clapping

They are watching Anth play peek-a-boo. He had just gotten home from work.
After the bath there was more whining from Carson and more laughing from Gavin. Anth was pretty happy that he was at work all day since he was about to lose his mind from Carson's whining after only a couple hours. I would say thank goodness that the day is over but attitudes will likely switch tomorrow and Gavin will have a cranky day. I will say thank goodness for Grey's and Private Practice at the end of the day.

  1. You're so smart with the tie on bibs! That thought never even crossed my mind... clever.
