Feb 5 - Sick Baby

Carson woke up with an even higher fever today. Still what would be considered a low grade fever but it's never fun when you have a sick baby :( He was not as whiny today but I think that's mostly because he slept for the majority of the day. My poor little monkey! Gavin, on the other hand, was busy as ever. He has been pulling on the babyproofing piece we have on the TV stand doors which makes both doors bang simultaneously. I took a picture of him eagerly trying to get back up on the TV stand after I had pulled him away and another picture of what he did (and always does) when I firmly told him "no". I understand that a lot of kids their age don't understand or choose not to listen to the word "no" but I thought most kids their age were supposed to understand tone of voice. Both of the boys think it is absolutely hilarious whenever I raise my voice. It may be a little funny now (and make me feel better that they don't get upset when I lose my cool a little bit) but only because I know that they really don't understand. If they try this 'tactic' once I know they do understand there will definitely have to be some disciplinary action!! I also wanted to post the second pic so everyone could see my kids' goofy teeth!! haha

Gavin has started this thing recently where he sweeps his food off of his tray. The sweeping thing isn't new. He always used to sweep off his tray when he was full but now he just sweeps it off for fun. Today was especially bad - I think at least 3/4 of his lunch ended up on the floor. It is SO frustrating especially because I have no idea how to stop it. As I mentioned above, he just laughs when I try to tell him "no". Just as I was feeling defeated I turned around and found him with a piece of banana stuck to his head. Geez, what a kid!! haha

After a day of napping, some tylenol and ibuprofen, and some dinner Carson was in a better mood. Both the boys love being undressed so I figured what better time than when he has a fever. The boys got this Fisher Price Learning Farm from their Uncle Brandon for Christmas and they just love it! Mostly they like putting things into the little compartments and taking them back out again. It's fun to see them learning new things all the time - like where things are supposed to go and actually putting them there.

I think I already mentioned that the boys really like playing in the bathroom. Well we heard Gavin whining a little bit and walked in to find him trapped between the toilet and the wall. So naturally, the wonderful parents that we are, we ran to get the camera!! haha Anth even videotaped him a bit. He actually ended up getting out by himself. The boys are definitely getting better at problem solving.

I'm hoping that Carson is feeling better tomorrow and that we don't have to make the dreaded trip to the walk-in clinic over the weekend.

  1. How to households without dogs manage the after swipe clean up? I love the toothy grin!

  2. I know! My dogs used to be much better - they used to eat everything but now they leave some things like fruit and some veggies.
